March 29 Tallulah State Park

Image
Today was a cool sunny day so we decided to hike at the Tallulah State Park. It is listed as just a 3mile hike but strenuous because it includes over 1000 steps to climb down and back up. The falls sound reminded me of our trip to Niagara Falls 2 years ago. The clean air and forest smells were wonderful and we saw and heard two pair of falcons. My watch shows I had an elevation gain of 496 feet. Yes it was quite a hike. We took the pictures and decided we needed to buy the t-shirt as well. It took us two hours by my watch, but we weren’t racing and took a lot of little breathing breaks. A fun day but tomorrow maybe we might bike ride.

Then we met Nancy with several years of weaving experience.  We watched as she finished ups piece and told us about making/dying yarn from cotton and local wool. She said she could probably even name the different lambs the wool came from  wow  so cool. It was only listed as a quarter mile hike but took a good hour to look, read and enjoy. Of course we decided on a Saturday to end our day at our favorite  winery, 12 Spies (based on biblical reference). We chose the Chardonnay 2018. We are truly relaxing and missing our friends to enjoy this with. We then decided to go back to Clayton ...
