5-20-22 Rest @Fort Stockton

Dennis pulled a hard drive after leaving Freightliner. They finished up repairs on our ac and rear lights just after noon. We loaded the bikes back on the coach and headed out. If we thought the winds were strong in Austin they were even stronger in Ft. Stockton, up to 20 mph or more. We drove over 300 miles and went through a thunder storm as well. At first it was a dazzling light show on the clouds but then we hit the rain. Fortunately we didn’t get the hail the weather app was warning about.

Sinc we didn’t get in until 11:00 pm mountain time we could not see much. In the morning we definitely had a desert view with small mesas around in the distance. Beautiful.

I used our rest day to wash the car and lower half of the motor coach. However, with the dry hot weather and hard well water all I got was a spotty finish unless I dried quickly.

Then we went to the pool and swam, jogged and jumped up and down to get some exercise. Pretty good work out. Sun bathed a little and of course got a little burnt. All is good. We were glad we rested for the next day’s drive.
