Anniversary trip Sturgis SD

 July 19.

Today we took a trip out of Custer, past Rapid City, to the motorcycle meca of the US (and the world they say)

We had always wanted to go to Sturgis on our motorcycle, but alas we no longer own one. Only two weeks away from the 81st rally, the town was already getting ready and sprusing up. We did manage to visit the Motorcycle museum and snagged ourselves some Sturgis t-shirts. The locals were very friendly that we met and talked to  interesting fact- the rally can bring in over a million visitors over a two week period  wow, glad we came early  they all said it gets crazy  the town closes off the Main Street so that only motorcycles can enter.

We ate lunch at The Loud American. A local had recommended their beef tips and Dennis couldn’t resist. I enjoyed a chicken avocado BLT. We have discovered a beer we like, Alaskan Amber. They don’t sell it in FL so we stock up when in the store.

Back home we enjoyed our last campfire in Custer and got ready for a short trip the next day to the Badlands.
