Rebecca Ruth Candy

If you like bourbon ball candy, this is where it originated. Ruth’s Candy factory. There are other stores, but this is the only place it is made. The company was started by two women before the Great Depression.  It lasted through that, WWII rationing and two fires. Ruth Booe invented the bourbon ball and the Kentucky Cornel Mint.  The factory is really quite small and yet they make and package over 3 million bourbon balls a year and over 5 million other candies. Ruth worked there well into her 80s and today it is run by her grandson. We were not allowed to photograph inside the factory but I was able to in their little museum. The local bourbon distilleries send over their bourbon and the factory makes special request candy to sell at the distillery. The Ark Encounter

Image
Today we revisited the Ark for the 40 days of gospel music nights. We are only going to see two or three of them. Since we came early we walked the ark to get answers to our questions about how old the earth is. I’ve included pictures to research. If you every get a chance to come here please enjoy.  It is an awe inspiring experience. We actually went to hear 3 nights of The 40 days and nights of gospel music.  Today we heard from two single artists and a family group: Sherry Anne (from New York, great salvation story, touching music); Riley Harrison Clark (new artist out of Oklahoma, great vocal range); and The Hoppers (3 generations, group started in 1957, fantastic gospel music!) Really enjoyed the music and we are going back for two more evenings.
