Biking in Pipestone
Today we ventured into Pipestone on our bikes. We rode downtown to the museum first. The building was the original court house and fire station. I was surprised the variety of items. A lot of photos also Native American items. Mainly based on the town’s inception in the 1800s.
Of course I took too many pictures. When we toured outside we had a walking tour booklet of over 30 sites to view, but I got all turned around and the written commentary was too long. We ended up just riding around town. What a head wind. I would lead us down a hill and Dennis would remind me remember if we go down we will have to go up 🤪
We ended up traveling 4 miles total ending at Pipestone Fort. It is a reproduction of what might have been. The outside is all worn out but the shop inside is quite nice. A lot of Native American art work, stone carving, and beading. The shop deserves better side walk appeal.
